One of the objectives of Project COBRA is to evaluate community solutions against a range of potential future scenarios. Given that these solutions may only be viable at specific levels the project will be comparing scenarios from the international, national, and local levels for compatibility with existing and emerging solutions from communities.

To establish what the scenarios from the national and local levels are, Project COBRA conducted two workshops in Guyana during the month of May 2012. On the 8th and 9th May the project hosted a stakeholder forum in Georgetown, Guyana to explore future scenarios for Guyana using key driving forces and issues that have a high degree of uncertainty in the future. Following this forum, a similar forum was held in the North Rupununi region of Guyana on the 15th and 16th May to explore how community members envision the future development of the North Rupununi. The North Rupununi forum was attended by 11 of the 16 communities represented by youths, men and women.
