Thoughts on Rio+20 by Wouter Veening

July 18, 2012

As the aims of the Cobra project is to analyse emerging policies and mechanisms for supporting community-owned solution for the sustainable management of ecosystem services, it is imperative that Cobra partners and associated communities are kept up-to-date with evolving policy initiatives concerning biodiversity conservation, environmental protection and indigenous rights.

Wouter Veening, President of the Institute for Environmental Security, was able to attend the UN Conference on Sustainable Development on 20-22 June 2012, in Rio de Janeiro, on behalf of the Cobra project, and provide a first-hand account of policy developments in key areas.
